George at The Village Chippy decided to raise some awareness and money for British Heart Foundation this year.
In 2010 they found that George's main Aortic Valve had stopped working so, when in surgery having a mechanical valve fitted, the surgeon found a massive aneurysm that was about to explode.
If they hadn't found it he wouldn't be here today. For this and his progress in recovery, George and myself are forever grateful.
So, this weekend, George joined in the 'Wear It Beat It Day' by wearing red to work. Alongside this we are also doing a little competition of how many feathers are in a 4ft feather Boa...a suggested £2 donation a go to help George reach his target of £500.
So far, with money raised at the chippy and George's Just Giving page, he has raised £355 so please come down and have a go...it's for a great cause.
Whoever guesses right or closest wins a £20 chippy voucher.
A big Thank you to all the customers that came down Friday and Saturday and supported George and donated...we are extremely grateful.
The Just Giving page for donations can be found by going to just giving.com and searching George Panagi
Ali and George.
