Gathering of Historic Boats

Our thanks to Frank Morris* for this selection of photos to whet your appetite if you are heading down the canal today to see the amazing selection of boats that have travelled to Audlem.

Organised by Peter and Christine Silvester of Audlem Mill, many crews attended a wonderful party last night held in the gardens of the Lock Cottage. The lighting of the coals for the Hog Roast inevitably kicked off the first rain shower for a week, which was fortunately short-lived.

The canal is a picture with boats double and even triple moored all the way from Audlem Wharf to the bottom of the locks.
