The funeral of Derek Mckelvey will take place on Wednesday 23rd January, 1pm at Audlem St James Church.

Derek was a former Chair (and in some cases, founding member) of the following village organisations; Audlem Parish Council, Audlem District Amenities Society, Audlem St James School Board of Governors, Audlem Education Foundation and Audlem History Society. In addition, he owned, and successfully ran for over 50 years, "Williams of Audlem"- the village's oldest established shop, on Shropshire Street, along with his wife Megan.

As a mark of respect, Williams of Audlem will be closed from 12.30pm onwards, for the duration of the afternoon.

By kind permission (subject to weather conditions) the Turnpike Field will be open to facilitate overflow parking for the afternoon – closing at 6pm.

The family has requested no flowers, instead any donations people may wish to make in memory of Derek, will be gratefully accepted at the church on the day, or if prefered, may be left at Williams' shop prior to, or after, Wednesday afternoon.

The family wishes to thank the community for their numerous cards & messages of support and kind words at this sad time.
