Full House at St. James' Church

Audlem Voices joined The Band of the Cheshire Constabulary and The Corps of Drums in a celebration of Christmas music. Thank you for supporting our choir and the band in a packed out church intent on enjoying Friday evening.

There is nothing quite like the sound of a brass band in full swing. The repertoire included a mixture of Christmas Carols and popular music with a wonderful euphonium solo played by Ian Sanders. The band leader, David Woollam, conducted with enthusiasm and gave us all entertainment by encouraging audience participation. We recognise all the hard work and rehearsal time devoted throughout the year by David and his band to produce such a high standard of music.

The Corps of Drums proved very popular again. They marched down the aisle in perfect timing sending a tingle down your spine captivating the ears of all age groups. What a magnificent sight!
Audlem is honoured to host the band and the Corps of Drums at our Christmas Concert.

Jenny Collis-Smith, musical director of Audlem Voices, chose a programme of both traditional and more modern Christmas music. The programme started with a punchy modern carol accompanied by Naomi Newman. This was followed by two traditional carols featuring soloists Carole Hallows, Roy Davies and Geraint Davies.

Later in the programme Patapan was given a new twist when two choir members, Yvonne Parker and Val Mackin played the flute and bodhran. The choir sang
enthusiastically.
