There was a great den building session at Youth Club on Friday.
We had miles and miles of fabric, garden canes, rubber ties, packing tape and huge cardboard boxes. It was bonfire weekend and whilst we may have been small in number, we were mighty!
I think the girls were under the impression that they were part of an 'Occupy' protest, and managed to sequester 75% of the chapel floor space with their capacious abode. Once complete they retreated inside to eat toast and furnish the monolith with jacuzzi, a pet dog and a garden (yes, really'the wonder of the felt tip pen).
On the other hand, the boys efforts, whilst modest, were an altogether more engineered affair. It wasn't quite the luxury pad of the girls' creation but then that could be put down to that more rewarding and well known diversion, Tape-a-Mate, soon to be patented as a stocking filler shock sensation.
This week at Youth Club is all about Frog Racing and getting those fingers folding all manner of paper wizardry. Make a frog that actually jumps (well alright, you have got to help it along a bit) and then prove your little paper amphibian is a champion in a nail biting race to the death across the chapel floor.
Why not make a fortune teller while you're at it and make your fortune taking bets and predicting the winner (or you could just make one and make it look lovely).
If you've done all of that and still want more, why not make a water bomb and lob it at your mates? (Outside for that one though).
Just come and see and you'll be amazed at what a humble piece of A4 copier paper can become- I think one became President once!
