Audlem Online's Bagley Lane correspondent reports that the water situation at Coxbank seems to be well in hand and the drains still seem to be working.

However, there seems little progress with regard to the road surface which still appears to be unacceptably rough for cars, motor cycles and bicycles.

Our correspondent adds: "I hope that Cheshire East Highways department are aware of this situation and have the matter in hand.

"There are a few other significant potholes within the Coxbank and Kinsey Heath area that should, for safety reasons, be dealt with by Cheshire East Highways before some unfortunate situation could potentially materialise.

"The state of the roads within Cheshire East, and especially South Cheshire, was aired at the last Audlem Parish Council Meeting.

"It was confirmed that if a pot hole or other significant fault in the road surface has been reported to Cheshire East Highways, and no remedial action was taken, should that reported fault be proved responsible for any untoward incident, it would be highly likely that Cheshire East Council could be liable due to negligence.

"It is well worth individuals reporting and logging road faults to Cheshire East Highways department in order to attempt to get repairs undertaken but also to be an aid to individuals should a compensation claim need to be instigated."
