Leana Plant, who only just escaped with her life when rescued last year from the blaze at her flat above Beaman's, has pleaded for security at the Muller's site after last night's fire which left her feeling the heat in her new flat next to the Muller's site. "I had warned Muller's of the risk of vandalism. I saw kids shouting and laughing on the site as the fire started. I could feel the heat building up and it brought back the nightmare of last year. I haven't slept all night and I'm really scared it will happen again unless they guard the site properly."

Last night's fire story, with pictures, is reported below (click 'More News' below the headlines on the right of the Homepage) and it was only in the last week that Audlem's Retained Firefighters received an award for their bravery in rescuing Leana from her old flat last year. www.audlem.org has, at Leana's request, passed on her request for full security to Muller's director with responsibility for the site, Carl Davey.
