Festive frolics at The Fly

The Shroppie Fly has become revitalised as a music venue over the last year. But now for something completely different... Boxing Day lunchtime saw a visit from The Green Man Morris team from Whitchurch, who gave a two hour performance outdoor in sunny weather. Dancing was to Christmas carols and traditional folk tunes.

After allowing for the effect of "refreshments" to sink in, members of the audience were invited to join in – And some did, with considerable skill and gusto. Despite much thwacking of sticks there were no broken bones or twisted ankles, and much fun was had by all.

Should you want to experience some more folk-orientated music and song, the next Audlem session is on Saturday 13 January afternoon from 2-5pm in The Fly. No Morris Dancing, but some of the musicians in the team will probably be there.
