Entry for 'Best of the Best' competition goes off to Calor

(The website link that was here no longer works) Audlem's written entry for the Calor sponsored 'Best of the Best' competition has been sent off to the organisers. Audlem qualified for this competition because of its success in the 'Village of the Year' event last year. Regional winners over the 10 years of 'Village of the Year' have been invited to compete for the 'Best of the Best' title and a prize for the overall winner of £20,000. Forty one villages from England, Scotland and Wales have accepted the invitation to compete.

The 15 page written entry covers: building community life; local businesses; younger people; older people; the environment and information computer technology. The last item was not covered in last year's competition so the launch of Audlem Online has been timely.

There will be a regional round of judging in early May when Audlem will be competing against villages in the North of England ranging from south Cheshire to Berwick upon Tweed in the North East. The final result will be announced in London on Tuesday 19th September.
