These are excerpts from the latest St James' school newsletter:

Leavers' Assembly

Our Year 6 children have treated their relatives and the whole school to a wonderful Leavers' Assembly this week. They took us on a journey through their memories of their time at school and combined acting, dancing and singing skills to showcase their wonderful enthusiasm and energy.

It was a delight to watch their confident performances and it was a real credit to themselves, staff and their families that they had so much to celebrate after all of their hard work this year. We will miss them all as they move on to High School next week and I am sure they will be wonderful members of their new school communities. I wish them all lots of luck, happiness and success in all they do.

Athletics

Huge congratulations to the children who took part in the Quad Kids Athletics County finals in Warrington last Friday. All of the children performed brilliantly in very high temperatures. Out of the eight finalists our school finished in a fantastic 3rd place, winning bronze medals. A superb achievement by all the children to be crowned the 3rd best school out of the whole Cheshire, Chester and Warrington region! Thank you to all of the parents who supported this event and to Mr Griffiths for organising it.

Support

As we reach the end of my first year as Headteacher at Audlem St James', I would like to
thank you for your continued support of our wonderful school. Children, Staff and Governors have worked tremendously hard this year to continually improve our school and make it the best it can be. Through this collective drive for improvement, we have seen a real development over the year and we should all feel very proud of the journey our school has made in a short amount of time.

Your feedback and input to avenues of communication such as our Parent Forum, has been valuable and helped to inform some of the changes we have made this year. We will continue to seek your views and opinions throughout next year as we develop our curriculum and environment further.

I wish you and your families a very happy, healthy and (hopefully) sunny summer and look forward to working with you and your children next year.

R Jewitt
