The Open Morning and Evening on Monday was a lovely chance for children to share their work and achievements from the year with parents and carers.

It was wonderful to see families sharing this special time together and to reflect on the progress the children have made in a wide range of curriculum areas.

Our Year 6 Leaver's Service on Wednesday was a special time to reflect on the wonderful journey all of our Year 6 children have made in their time at Primary School and a wonderful reminder of their thoughtful and kind characters as they shared their reflections of their primary years.

Thank you to Reverend Helen who spent time with Diamond class on Monday talking about 'Moving On' and helping to prepare the children for their next step on their journey.

Thanks also to FASA for helping to fund the Year 6 Leaver's Treat on Wednesday afternoon – all of the children returned with smiles and stories from their pizza and bowling treat!

All of our Year 6s had a special treat at their Leaver's Lunch yesterday as Mrs Hayward prepared many of their favourite dishes from their time at school – it was enjoyed by all!

Key Stage 2 choir and musicians shared a super showcase of their work with Mrs Shackleston this term in a special performance on Thursday afternoon. It was great to watch their enthusiasm and energy as they performed a range of songs and music arrangements which entertained us all!

There were more talents on show yesterday when children from across school shared some of their skills ranging from dance, piano playing and gymnastics to ukulele playing, singing and drumming. Thank you to all of the children who contributed to this.

ABC Childcare

The after- school children have had a fab term enjoying the after school club ideas and coming up with ideas for the clubs. They have been very helpful with the new children that have started with ABC in the last couple of weeks.

The ABC team hope you enjoy your summer holidays and look forward to seeing some of you at the holiday club. They would also like to say goodbye to the children that are moving on to high school -enjoy your new adventure!

If you have an enquiry for ABC, please call the team on 01270 669050. In the meantime – Happy Holidays from ABC!

SATs Success

Congratulations to our Year 2 and Year 6 children who have achieved super results in their recent SATs tests. In many areas, these results have surpassed results achieved in recent years, especially in Maths, which has been a key area of our School Development Plan this year.

The results are testament to the hard work the children have put into developing their English and Maths skills and the dedication and commitment of their teachers and support of their parents in ensuring they strive for every child to reach his / her full potential.

Hellos and Farewells

We say a sad farewell to Mrs Heathcock and Miss Heywood today as they move on to pastures new. We wish them much luck and happiness in the future and thank both of them for the energy, enthusiasm and dedication they have brought to their roles in their time at our school.

We also wish Mrs Burgess lots of luck as she begins her maternity leave today. We look forward to hearing her baby news soon!

We welcome Mr Perry, Mrs Bird and Mr Morrey to our teaching team in September. I am also delighted that both Mrs Kay and Mrs McKee will be remaining on our staff team next term. Mrs Kay will support both EYFS and Key Stage 1 whilst Mrs McKee will support in Key Stage 2 alongside Mrs Tailor.

Miss Jones will also be joining us in Key Stage 1 as a Teaching Assistant and we will be welcoming Mrs Taylor to our office team from September who will work alongside Miss Cooper and Mrs Howard. Mrs Smallwood will begin her new role as Mid Day Assistant in September and we look forward to welcoming her on to this team too.

Finally

As we reach the end of another busy and successful year at Audlem St James, I would like to thank you all for your continued support of our wonderful school. Once again, children, staff and Governors have worked tremendously hard this year to make it the best it can be for all of our children.

A reminder that school reopens for children on Wednesday 2nd September. I wish you and your families a very happy, healthy and (hopefully) sunny summer and look forward to working with
you and your children again next year.
