Dippers are birds that live in streams, normally in wild hilly areas, that feed by walking along the stream's bed against the current catching what comes their way.
Almost three years ago, during a severe spell of winter weather, Andy Davidson reported seeing them in the brook. It was a very unusual sighting in the Audlem area.
Now, we have had a recent report of two dippers seen in the brook, not by Andy but another source.
Is it a sign that we are in for an extended cold spell and the birds have moved to warmer waters away from the hills?
Dippers need clean water which is a good sign for the brook through Audlem.
