AudlemOnline is proud to host today's launch of the interactive version of ADAPT's cycle route map. This has involved a great deal of effort by the ADAPT Transport Group and opens up Audlem's local area for cyclists of all ages and fitness.

Thirty friendly cycle routes

The ADAPT Transport Group's Cycle map of the Audlem area goes live today, with 30 pleasant and varied routes, all avoiding main roads wherever possible.

The routes range from 4 to 35 miles in length so there's something for everyone. Many offer options to go 'off-road' on our local canal towpaths and bridleways.

The routes are graded easy, moderate and harder, based on the length, gradients and surface conditions.

Free Route Maps

The route maps are FREE and can be downloaded from Audlem Online. Each route map is supported with information on how to enjoy cycling it safely. Enlarged maps are provided where detailed navigation is required.

The maps will soon also be available to download in GPX format for uploading into cycling apps.

Click here to learn more, and choose routes to download.

This link is also on the "features" drop down menu on the AudlemOnline Home page.

The route maps are supported by a free information leaflet including an A2 size map showing all the routes covered. These leaflets will be available throughout Audlem from this weekend. Look out for the ADAPT Transport Group stall around the village this Saturday and Sunday, and at the carnival on Monday. There will some free bicycle bells given away at the stall.

ADAPT produced the guide to cycle routes around the Audlem area, to encourage cycling for essential local journeys and as a leisure activity. We believe this is worthwhile in improving the health of participants and displacing car journeys.

Participatory Budgeting Programme

The guide was prepared with support from Cheshire East Council's Participatory Budgeting Programme 2017 aimed at improving Public Health. You may recall the role that the community of Audlem played in January in voting for the project allowing it to secure this funding. Click here to read the full story.

We look forward to seeing many of you out on your bikes enjoying our surrounding countryside, and maybe joining one of ADAPT's regular cycle rides. Click here to find details of our programme for the coming weeks.
