Our task force day this month, Saturday 14th April, was greeted with blue skies and sunshine – Spring is here at last!

The group of four volunteers, including Geoff, a new member, were led by our team leader, Angela Barnett and tasked with clearing the Canal Shop flower/shrub bed.

Prior to our start, appropriate pre-task checks were made and warning signs posted. Work was concentrated on removal of the overgrown shrubbery – ahead of future planned clearance of roots and soil and replanting, in conjunction with Audlem in Bloom.

Hopefully villagers and visitors alike will notice an improvement!

The team were well supplied with tea and coffee.

As ever, Audlem Volunteer Lock Keepers look forward to greeting new members, who would like to come along and join in.

This month's report was compiled in the absence of our normal excellent contributor – Derek Jones – who was away on a short break.

Apologies for the lack of fluidity, finesse and fullness but be assured normal service will be resumed as soon as possible!
