This week's Nantwich Chronicle has much of interest for Audlem residents – it's available at Williams' newsagents at 60p.

There's a full page feature on one of Audlem's best known residents, Billy Gibbons, who has written his autobiography. Under the headline 'Billy has a tale to tell', the article by Jamie Oliver explains how Billy has put pen to paper in his 50s style kitchen to record his extraordinary life. Recently Billy auditioned for Big Brother and late last year hit the national headlines and TV and radio when he sold a cup of tea on eBay for £12.50. Billy says: "I've tried to focus on the ups rather than the downs in the book and there are bits about Audlem in there, as I absolutely love the place." Two years ago a film was made about Billy which was launched at the National Film Theatre in London. Let's keep our fingers crossed a publisher takes up the autobiography. It should be quite a read.

The Chronicle also carries a story with three pictures of the Open Gardens and Scarecrow weekend; a picture and story about Audlem Aid to Cancer Research who have been nominated for the newspaper group's 'Your Champions Award' and a preview of Proms on the Park.
