ADAS reports that last night's Children's Fashion Show by The Magic Wardrobe of Sandbach in the Public Hall was a roaring success. Thirty one children from St James' Primary School arrived at 5.00pm. Aged from 3 to 11, they were a mix of girls and boys and started their rehearsals. This was the one chance to rehearse their appearance on stage, walk down the catwalk, turn, pause and return to the stage to strike up their pose as their outfits were described. 7.00pm and the hall was packed – with many standing as there were not enough chairs for all who came. The majority were sitting in a huge horseshoe of chairs – laid out just like a London Fashion House!.

Ralph Warburton of ADAS opened up the evening, then Alison of Magic Wardrobe took over as MC and the show rolled. There was massive applause for each of the children as they appeared in the new clothes. They were magnificent and their moment of glory was wonderful to see. Not one foot was put wrong – amazing when you consider the tiny amount of rehearsal!

The evening closed at 8.45pm. There was a great buzz, great applause and very excited children. It was a great Village event. Lots of funds were raised for ADAS and the village – but mostly the night was for the children and their very proud Mums, Dads and Grandparents. Just what the village is all about.
