Local MP Antoinette Sandbach is hosting Cheshire Food & Drink Day in the Houses of Parliament.

Food and drink producers from across Cheshire have been invited to the Houses of Parliament to showcase their produce on Wednesday 2nd March by local MP Antoinette Sandbach.

Antoinette has organised Cheshire Food & Drink Day to show there's more to Cheshire than its world renowned cheese. Antoinette has invited all Cheshire MP's to bring a food or drink producer from their constituency to take part in the day.

Antoinette Sandbach, MP for Eddisbury, said: "Cheshire has an abundance of fabulous locally produced food and drink and what better way to show it off than to invite local businesses to the Houses of Parliament. Cheshire Food & Drink Day is shaping up to be a promising event"

Amongst the businesses confirmed so far are Taste Cheshire, Chatwins Bakery, NFU Cheshire, Joseph Heler Cheese, Tatton Brewery and Forest Gin with several more expected to confirm attendance over the next few weeks.

With MP's from both of the main parties taking part this really is a cross-party effort to put Cheshire business on the map. The day promises to be a popular event across Parliament with the buyers from the Parliamentary shops invited to attend and meet the various businesses and is a great opportunity for those attending.

Cheshire Food & Drink Day is a fantastic demonstration of Antoinette's campaign to encourage people to buy locally where possible and is backing the NFU 'Buy British' campaign. Cheshire has a wealth of local producers with exceptional quality products. In Audlem we have seen that support for the High Street can lead to thriving businesses with good links to local producers.

Antoinette said: "Eddisbury hosts a huge variety of good local rural enterprises and by supporting them you can ensure that every pound you spend goes straight back into the local economy"
