Following last week's story about the musician who was fined £30 for stopping on the Square's double yellow lines, we have received a number of comments over the past week. George Beaman asks: "Surely it was a mistake that the musician was fined for stopping on The Square to unload his gear? I have always believed that stopping on yellow lines was permitted if it was for loading or unloading. After all it is what the co-op delivery drivers do."

PC Ken Maple has since contacted Audlem Online this morning to say: "George Beaman is correct in stating that it is not an offence to stop on double yellow lines whilst loading or unloading. I didn't see the original article and I don't know the circumstances under which the musician received a ticket, but he would certainly be able to write to the central ticket office, explain the facts and ask for the ticket to be waived."
