Buerton councillors may screen newly installed play equipment after complaints of noisy children.

Neighbours have complained that the play equipment on the village playing field is too near their homes.

They claim they suffer noise and nuisance throughout the day from children using the play equipment.

They are also concerned at the lack of supervision of children and teenagers using the field.

And they allege they have not been properly consulted over the siting of the play equipment, nor the effect it has on nearby residents.

But members of Buerton Parish Council were told that the decision to erect play equipment on the playing field has been council policy for at least five years.

Councillors had discussed the matter many times and details had been spelt out clearly in council minutes, on the village notice board, on AudlemOnline and in the Audlem newsletter which is delivered to all homes in Audlem.

Detailed plans of the play area have also been posted on the village notice boards and available at parish council meetings, councillors were told.

Now councillors are to consider putting up some sort of screening to mitigate the noise and plan to invite residents of houses neighbouring the play area to participate in any further developments of the site.
