On Saturday, 7th October Brine Leas School in Nantwich opened its doors to around 250 pupils from years 5 and 6 of primary schools throughout both Crewe and Nantwich for its annual 'Activity Day'. The youngsters opted to become actively involved in a wide range of practical activities- from making chocolate creatures in the newly refurbished cookery suite to ceramic animals in the art room; developing CSI skills in the laboratory while designing, making and launching their own rockets with the help of technology staff; learning new game skills in the Sports Hall, devising a street dance and learning to sing as a pop group- were just some of the workshops on offer to introduce them to the staff and facilities available at a large, successful secondary school.
Headteacher, Andrew Cliffe, commentated: "It was a pleasure to see so many young students enjoying themselves".
They will have another opportunity to visit the school today, Wednesday, 11th October when the school opens its doors to the public for student guided tours between 0915 and noon as part of the annual OPEN DAY.
In the evening- from 1830 to 2030- visitors will be welcome to view the main school and its facilities and meet both staff and students. The Head, Andrew Cliffe, will address visitors at 6.30p.m. and 7.30p.m. Students, parents and anyone from the community are most welcome.
