Robert (Rabbie) Burns
The Bard of Ayrshire or Ploughman Poet was a Scottish poet and lyricist.

Born: 25 January 1759, Alloway, Scotland
Died: 21 July 1796, Dumfries, Scotland

We could not let Burns Night pass without offering our readers the delights of the Ode to the Haggis

Fair fa' your honest, sonsie face, Great Chieftan o' the Puddin-race! Aboon them a' ye tak your place, Painch, tripe, or thairm: Weel are ye wordy of a grace As lang's my arm

and so on for a further seven verses.

This is unintelligible of course to any normal reader (although you could try it after a few whiskies, which will probably at least dull the pain).

If you really want to sample the whole thing, try this youtube link
