Biggest Pothole yet?

Our northern correspondent writes of a very large hole appearing in Monks lane resulting in its closure as follows:

There is a large hole in Monks Lane that closed the road. It is 1.5mtr wide x1.5 mtr long x1.5mtr deep, and was caused by a burst water main.

The hole remains open simply because there is no available back fill material – it was washed away by the force of water !
