Big night out at awards night

The winners of Cheshire's Community Pride competition will be celebrated at a prize giving night at Ellesmere Port Civic Hall on Thursday 15th October. A large gathering of Civic Leaders are expected to attend the event, which is being hosted this year by Cheshire West and Chester.

Audlem has seen much success in recent years at this event, as has Hankelow which won the top award two years ago. Audlem has submitted entries in a number of categories including AudlemOnline having been entered for the Village Website of the Year award. It is also the current holder.

Commenting on the awards, Chairwoman, Kathy Benn MBE states: "The Competition exemplifies the community spirit in all the villages. It demonstrates and emphasises just how much voluntary work is undertaken to keep Cheshire a vibrant County. We encourage villages to improve every aspect of village life which is under threat in so many different ways".

This years guest speaker is Jamie Christon, Managing Director of Chester Zoo, who will be speaking about the 'Islands at Chester Zoo.'

This competition is organised by Cheshire Community Action, with judges from all over the county giving their free time to judge all of the entries.
