March is a month of considerable frustration – it is so near spring and yet across a great deal of the country the weather is still so changeable that outdoor activity in our gardens seems light years away. (Except for my neighbour who has already started tidying hers – there's always one!)

However we ladies of the W.I. are not lazy creatures, we are just on an energy saving mission until our next meeting, when we can spring into action and once again involve ourselves fully with enthusiasm and passion, into the guilty pleasures of our monthly meeting!

Now enough of these frivolities, let us turn our minds to more important and serious issues. At last month's meeting our members were offered the unique opportunity to purchase, at the ridiculously low price of £2, a W.I. Centenary Bag.

For those unfortunately absent from this meeting, fear not as we still have some available.

Our President Lin Nicholas then requested that we return to this month's meeting with our bags full of food donations for the Nantwich Food Bank. This is a very worthwhile cause, dear to our hearts, and an opportunity for us to enhance our commitment within our community.

This is purely voluntary, we will even turn a blind eye to those harassed members who bravely
arrive with Tesco carrier bags, ( Waitrose are acceptable. ) Remember, the more food goods that you donate, the redder the faces of the committee members will be as they struggle along to the food bank with elongated arms! I'm certain that's a sight worth seeing!

A simple box of food makes a big difference to people's lives- although I believe they are inundated with Baked Beans, so maybe give those a miss. For further information on the type of food stuffs required, just follow this link:

Once again we are hoping that our members will embrace the challenge of our monthly competition by decorating an egg for Easter. Now all of us surely can manage to hard-boil an egg then find a five year old with crayons?

Seriously though, the successful winner will have their decorated egg immortalised for prosperity by being published on Audlem Online. What more could you ask for?

Remember, we are also offering our members the 'once every three years opportunity' to put their names down for the exciting prospect of winning a Denman Bursary and the draw will be made in April, so if you have not yet ticked your name to take part, please remember to
attend our March meeting and try to avoid getting crushed in the rush to sign up! We only have one first aider on call.

If all of the above were not enough to exhaust and excite our fading faculties, there is to be a ' Grand Announcement ' the like of which we have never heard before. Bring your smelling salts, just in case you need reviving!

Our March meeting is a Member's Meeting and it never ceases to astound me just what our members have experienced throughout their lives, which they are allowed to talk about, let alone the fact that they have the ability to stand up and address an audience with such supreme confidence.

Well let's face it, whatever women do they must do twice as well as men to be thought half as
good. Luckily this is not too difficult! After all, a woman may be misinformed, mislead, unclear, misguided, and even downright stupid, but she is never ever wrong!

Our next Meeting takes place on Thursday March 5th at 2.00 p.m. at The Scout and Guide Hall. See you all there ladies.
