We are looking forward to welcoming Annie Goodwin (age 10), a pupil at Audlem School, to the kitchens of Oxtail & Trotter this afternoon to claim her prize.
Zoe and the team will be showing Annie how we make our sausages and what ingredients go into the Audlem Sausage – the flavour combination of which was designed by Annie. These have proved to be incredibly popular so far and currently we are struggling to keep up with demand.
Today we will be making 102 sausages for Annie to take home to share with her family & friends, extra for the shop and to fulfil an order from Winegeek – who I believe are cooking some on Saturday to celebrate their 1st birthday. Please come along to enjoy a taster of wine and some delicious sausages on Saturday.
We have our 1st delivery of Venison in the shop – this is from the Buildwas Estate in between Much Wenlock & Ironbridge. Hopefully by the weekend we will have some selected cuts on the counter.
We have also had a big delivery from Hawkshead Relish to add to what is becoming a fairly well stocked condiment shelf. Make sure that when you are buying your Sunday roasting joint that you remember to pick up the relevant condiments to accompany it; we stock: Hot Horseradish Sauce; Mint Sauce; Mint Jelly; Cumberland Sauce; Bramley Apple Sauce; Shropshire Spice Stuffings; Great Ness Oils – their Rapeseed oil is brilliant for roasting potatoes; Beef, Red Wine & Thyme Gravy; Chicken, White Wine & Tarragon Gravy; Chicken & Beef Stock ...the list goes on!
I have also recently sourced some traditional beef suet – something that so far I haven't been able to find – coming soon!
We are nearly there with the Christmas order forms and hope to have it online by the end of next week and will also have printed copies in the shop shortly afterwards. We will have all of our usual festive fayre on the order forms and well as a few new product lines including the infamous Packington Free Range Cockerels.
If you are wanting anything slightly out of the ordinary for your festive feast – come and talk to us and we will try and source it for you to save you having to go further afield to collect during such a hectic time of the year.
