(The website link that was here no longer works) Audlem Public Hall Committee received a welcome boost this week in the form of a £1,500 donation from local family business, the Morris company. The funds are to go towards the refurbishment of the Parish Hall kitchen, part of an ambitious repair and development programme due to be completed next year.

Sue Humphries, Chief Executive of Morris Care, a division of the Morris company, welcomed Geoff Stretch, chairman of the Audlem Public Hall committee to its care home at Corbrook Court where the cheque was presented.

"We are delighted to be associated with such a worthwhile cause", Sue Humphries explained. "As proprietors of Corbrook Court in Audlem, we understand how important this project is to the village community and know that this donation will be put to excellent use."

The hall is an integral part of Audlem village and is a focal point in the community which is regularly used by many local charities and organisations including Audlem Badminton Club and Childrens' Drama Group. It also plays an important role in many established annual events such as the Music Festival, Transport Festival and Bonfire Night celebrations.

Geoff Stretch commented, "We would like to offer a huge thank you to the Morris company for its kind donation. The committee is dedicated to meeting the needs of the many users of the Parish Hall and with such wonderful support, we can ensure its long term future"
