APH AGM

The Annual General Meeting of the Management Committee which runs Audlem Public Hall took place a few weeks ago.

Stuart Furber, as Chairperson, reported on a year when a largely new committee got used to the organisation and running of the Hall.
He announced that Rachel Hodgkins has joined the Committee as Secretary, a position that has been vacant for almost a year.
Rob Collins has been leading the implementation of a new diary and booking system, which it is hoped will greatly assist in the task of Bookings co-ordinator, Lorna Matthews.

The finances of the Hall are in good shape and the Community Gym continues to go from strength to strength.

The Hall has gained Change of Use permission from Cheshire East planning to allow the old Caretaker's Flat to be incorporated into the main Hall, (recognising that the standard of living provided by the Flat fell well short of modern standards and would require lots of money to bring it up-to-date). providing much needed extra space. As well as master-minding this process, Adrian Farrow is also battling the convoluted bureaucracy required to change the Charity Status of the Hall to a CIO (Charitable Incorporated Organisation).
