Arrangements for the Audlem Music & Arts Festival are coming together. The musicians will be confirmed by the middle of next month and the programmes issued in mid-May. The Festival runs from Friday 23rd to Monday 26th May.

A highlight of the Friday programme will be a concert by Audlem St James school children at 7.00pm in St James Church. Bands will playing that night in the Lord Combermere, Shroppie Fly and Bridge Inn pubs.

Saturday includes Art displays in the Methodist Church Hall and St James Church, plus music by Back Row Plus Saxaphonie in the Methodist Hall. Blues Alley performances get underway in the afternoon with duos and solo artists. The Lord Combermere features bands in the covered area by the pub and in the evening, a Traditional Jazz 7 piece band playing. There will be live music at both the Bridge and Shroppie Fly.

A new feature will be the Nantwich Players presenting a Play in the Public Hall at 7.30pm. There will be a £5 charge but everything else in the Festival is free entry.

There's a full programme of art and music on the Sunday while Bank Holiday Monday sees the Audlem Carnival plus parades, stalls, bands and the Fun Fair. The Festival organisers also hope to have Street Entertainers on the Sunday and Monday. It all looks as if it'll be a great weekend of entertainment and worth getting in your diary.
