Audlem in Bloom volunteers will be out in force in the village this coming weekend.
We have decided that some of the mature beds that we look after need some attention. The larger mature beds outside the Lord Combermere, at the entrance to the car park and the large bed in front of St James' will be having a makeover.
Wherever possible we will be reusing plants either in the same beds or in other beds in the village.
This weekend the work on these beds will begin with the removal and digging out of the beds. The beds will then be left empty for a few weeks whilst we put new compost and manure down to give the new plants a good start.
The beds will be replanted during the weekend of 10/11th May. The plants that have been chosen will give colour and scent throughout the year as well as attracting bees and other insects.
We hope you are enjoying the spring displays of pansies and tulips and that you will excuse the bare beds over the next few weeks!
As ever if you have any time over the weekend and would like to help please let me know 811705 or bryonynixon@me.com or just come along we are meeting at the Buttermarket at 11.00am on Saturday!!
