Tony Crowther is leading this walk at Norton-in-Hales on Saturday 26th July

Meet Audlem car park 9.20am to depart at 9.30am

Drive to The Hinds Head pub in Norton -in -Hales to park in either their car park or across the road.

My brief description is as follows

The 4 -ALLS WALK

4-4

4-Halls

4.44 miles

This walk is 4.44 miles long and takes in 4 halls namely Bellaport Brand,Oakley and Old Betton

it is a circular walk using mainly lanes, footpaths fields ,greenlanes and it crosses old rail lines.

Leaving Norton we go along a lane past Brand Hall over fields and old railways to come out on the Norton to Drayton road.from there we descend to the river Tern across to Oakley Hall through Oakley park to follow an ancient track and green lane back to Norton passing the famed Devils Ring and Finger!!!!!

On a fair weather day there are several good veiws to be seen over Welsh hills Shrops and Cheshire

This is a very flat walk with only one or two stiles and several kissing gates and very gentle climbs.

PLEASE NOTE One large field is an ANKLE BREAKER due to solid hoof marks due to the weather so a Hiking Pole or two may well help.

No sheep but some cattle encountered on the reccie

Refreshments are available after the walk at The Hinds Head

Depending on turnout the walk will take between 2.5 hours- 3hours to complete

Please bring coffee/water for our trek

NB All walkers must have suitable footwear and be prepared for adverse weather, carry food and water to last for the entire walk and be suitably fit for the various lengths of walk.

Each walk is led by a nominated leader who will carry some first-aid equipment. The leader has the right to refuse to include in a group anyone who is felt not be adequately equipped.

Non-members of Audlem Rambling Society (ARS) are welcome to come on a walk but are expected to join ARS and pay the membership fee after a trial walk or two.
