Last night we held our second AGM at the Lord Combermere – with a good number of players in attendance. Those who could not be with us were working or at personal functions.

The agenda embraced:

1 The present management set up agreed by all – Ralph Warburton as Chair. Rolana Wright as secretary. Geoff Stretch & James Bebbington as joint managers .(JB as player manager). Kev Rodgers as coach.

2 New signing on fees and match fees if chosen to play.

3 The desired playing squad of 20 players – as always with the proviso to consider new signings after giving priority to regular players.

4 Training to be more committed. Day and timing to be agreed by all.

5 Coaching to be headed up by Kev Rodgers. Warm up time before kick off to be less.

6 New kit of Blue /white stripes agreed. Sponsor The Lord Combermere.

7 New AFC jacket – agreed. Sponsor Advantage Vehicles.

8 New Match Balls. We are seeking sponsors for match balls – please contact me if you are interested.

9 CRSL AGM . Officials to attend on 3rd June.

10 Trophies . Awards of trophies:

  • Managers' Player of the year: Pete Jones
  • Players' Player of the year: Connor Baxter
  • Top Scorer: Kev Mort
  • Most improved player: Joe Benson
  • Miss of the year: Jim Davies
  • Sponsors: The Lord Combermere & Audlem Dry Cleaners

11 Meeting closed with much heated debate on selection and training. If only words were goals, we would be top of the league!

We were then treated to a very fine Chilli, rice and the delicious Lord C chips repast.
Our most sincere thanks to Allan and Jo and Sevi – our so loyal sponsors.

The new season begins 24th August. We shall see if all we have debated and agreed gives AFC a better start.

Ralph Warburton
Chairman
