Aston and District W.I. held their final meeting of 2023 at Broomhall Chapel on Friday 8th December.
Members enjoyed a traditional Christmas dinner followed by a Christmas quiz and Carols. There was a lovely relaxed atmosphere with members catching up with each other and enjoying one another's company.
A raffle took place and also a 'Name the Bear' competition, both of which raised a considerable amount of money for our chosen charity, Hope House.
The beautiful large bear was donated by one of our members. The lucky winner of the bear was the envy of quite a number of ladies.
The competition was a Christmas Cracker. This was won by Rosemary Lomas whose cracker was decorated with a spray of fresh flowers.
Our next meeting will take place at Broomhall Chapel on 2nd February 2024 at 2 o'clock. The Speaker will be Mark Hignett with a talk entitled 'Soldiers in Love'. The competition will be 'Something Red'.
Visitors and new members are always very welcome. For further information please take a look at our web site: – www.astonanddistrictwi.org.uk
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
