Another SHLAA response

Although this response from Cheshire East is much the same as others published previously, it does refer to a different site within the village.

This was received by David Roberts in response to an enquiry about the site adjacent to Moorsfield Avenue.

"Mr David Roberts,

"Thank you for your email. I will try to ensure that I explain this as simply as possible, unfortunately planning has a tendency for being quite jargon heavy so if you need any further help or advice please feel free to give me call or email.

"The SHLAA is purely a technical evidence base document. It provides part of the background evidence for the planning policy documents that we are currently preparing known as the Cheshire East Local Plan.

"The SHLAA does not suggest that the Council would support development on a particular site. All of the sites included within the SHLAA will be judged on their merits as part of the Development Plan process and / or part of the Planning Application process.

"This site is 'not currently developable' and as such is not supported for development by the Council. Therefore it should be assumed that it is currently contrary to the Development Plan and would need the policy applying to this area to be amended before it could come forward for development. It is not guaranteed that the policy for this area will be amended through the emerging Core Strategy (one of the planning policy document currently being prepared that makes up part of the Local Plan) or future planning policy documents. The site may never move from its 'not currently developable' status if a policy change does not come forward. In order to be considered as appropriate and available for development now, the site would be need to be moved to a 'deliverable' status.

"It should be noted that the SHLAA will be reviewed on an annual basis, and so any changes to the availability or suitability of the site will be reviewed regularly and the status may be changed as a result of this review. Your comments on site 2930 will be considered in the next update to the SHLAA (base date 31st March 2013).
