AFC Match Report

Sunday 8th April

I pen this observation "in absentia" having received the news via emails .

But before I dive into the small corner of the sport that we inhabit, I make a comment on the state of play in the world of comedy today. I was sent a link to Youtube posting , which was one of comics on stage in the years gone by. And the humour was such as to provoke belly laughter on my part . The likes of Jimmy Tarbuck, Ken Goodwin, Charlie Williams, Norman Collier, Dave Allen, Frank Carson , Stan Boardman etc etc all presented to me. And all with rapid jokes -- none of which sank to the level of today's so-called comedians, with the use of F..k, S..t and so on, as they appeal to very low taste audiences . No true one line skill, just profanities .

A tragedy of lack of quick fire "one liners" lost now .

And speaking of tragedy and lack of humour, I have to report another dismal day for Audlem F C. No laughs there as we were soundly beaten by White Eagles of Crewe with a score line of 7-1.

We are tumbling down the league with such a poor performance since the turn of the year.

Ever hopeful that our next game will be better. We shall see. And see if we can bring a smile back on all our faces .
