The last market for this season, held under the gazebo in the Lord Combermere car park on Saturday morning between 10.00 and 12.00. A fantastic local facility, come along and support ADAPT, come early and you won't be disappointed. Shop local!
This final week you will find a cornucopia of locally grown produce. Bramley Apples, that will keep till Christmas, Red Falstaff, juicy, tasty and will keep a long time. The last of the beetroots, nobbily celeriac, a slightly celery tasting vegetable, use in salads, add to mash, makes great soup. Medium size fennel, has a slight aniseed taste and Italian Marrow, they're the ball shaped ones. Brightly coloured Dahlias and if you are lucky and early enough, Sweey Peas. The honey man has been busy not only gathering honey but making bees wax candles and Damson Jam. Last but not least lovely big eggs with very yellow yolks.
Thank you to the Lord Combermere for letting ADAPT Food Group use their car park every week to bring you the Saturday Market. Without their generosity we couldn't do it. Thank you to all the growers who have been generous and bought their excess produce to sell. Thank you to ADAPT Food Group members, who are great gardeners and have given up their time to bring you the stall every week. I hope we have given everyone a chance to eat local seasonal food. Last but not least THANK YOU, to everyone who has supported us throughout the season, without your support and generosity we wouldn't be able the hold a Saturday market.
This is not the last of ADAPT this year, there will be ADAPT HOME MADE CHRISTMAS in December, so keep your eyes peeled for notice of that.
Thank you for reading my ramblings every week. See you all next year!
