I would like to thank Jane Marshall and all the ladies at ADAPT who gave me the opportunity to bake Xmas cupcakes and sell them at their Xmas fair last Saturday morning (7th December) to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.

Initially I was going to place the £37 raised into my own CR UK Just Giving account, which I opened in November 2011 at diagnosis of my secondary cancers, when I started fundraising in Audlem.

Since then I have learnt from our good friends Stevie & Gill Walker that they lost Stevie's father to cancer quite recently and their caring 14 year old son, Sam, proposed to have his head shaved to raise money for this worthy cause.

So, I have decided that we will round the figure up to £50 and donate it to Sam's fund instead. After all, the donations are all going to Cancer Research UK, and it does not matter which cancer we are supporting. I believe that young Sam has already raised nearly £400 which is quite commendable!

Not only did I enjoy baking and decorating the cakes, I thoroughly enjoyed participating in this worthwhile Festive event under the Buttermarket in Audlem.
