Clare Ward on Jean Moss author

16th September 2022 @ 1:41pm

Does anyone know if Jean Moss is still living in or around Audlem?

She is the author of "Walking Back, Memories of Africa ". It is the most beautiful story and such an interesting book, particularly if you love Africa.

I would dearly love to meet Jean and chat about Africa. I was told she lived in or around Audlem but I'm not sure when this was. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you. Clare Ward

Thank you all for your useful feedback.

I would also like to warn anyone recently bereaved of responding to any correspondence claiming to be a long lost relative. half sibling etc. that claims (or later claims) to have entitlement over the estate This is also a common scam which relies on a response from the bereaved and resultant costs of defending their claim often means it is cheaper to pay them out, than to defend. What ever you do, do not even reply to such emails/ letters until such times as the estate is settled and you are in a less vulnerable state. If they are genuinely "lost" a few more months shouldn't do any harm and ask yourself why they have at this point suddenly been able to trace & identify you ?

Chris Lewis on Jonathan Smith – DVLA

I too was recently contacted by J Smith informing me DVLA had noted my road fund tax was due. Clearly a scam as it was paid for 12 month in February

Karen
I'd be very wary of this. It's a classic scammers trick. Look out for loans, phone contracts, bank accounts etc being set up for the address and people intercepting her post, either with a divert or simply stealing it especially if she has an external post box. Some of them put up a false external box temporarily and wait for the postman to arrive.

Karen Bradshaw on Jonathan Smith – DVLA

Can anyone tell me who Jonathan Smith is and his address please? He has given my Mother's address concerning his DVLA application. I have contacted the agency to alert them.

The larger Superdrug shops are supposed to be taking empty pill blister packs for recycling. I have been told Chester or Hanley but possibly Shrewsbury as well. Does anyone go near one regularly and could take them there for us? Not heavy! Thanks.

For those that are bemoaning a lack of a tribute from AudlemOnline I have an idea some of our more prolific raconteurs will regale us of tales of their meetings with Her Majesty the Queen at corporate events and garden parties.
