Yesterday there was a dog in the children's playground. Today 2 dogs in the cemetery Once again dog owners with no respect whatsoever
Great congratulations to ADAS on their wonderful achievement. Very many thanks to you all for all the effort that goes in. The village (town ?) always looks beautiful throughout the summer months. Diolch yn fawr.
We have been told by Scottish Power that we are to receive this extra grant of £200 due to not being on the gas grid. Hope everyone else gets the same good news.
Congratulations to all the helpers! Amazing the hours that are put into our displays and sustainability considered too. Well done.
Chris, this is a fair point. We volunteers run the quiz as a low key, fun night for locals whilst raising funds for causes. As such, there is no audit and transactions for raffle tickets etc cannot be recorded. However, I have retained as much financial detail for the previous 2 quizzes as possible and I'll be happy to sit with you (or anyone else) to go through this in the interests of transparency and probity. Let me know when you're free.
Mr Greaves is very welcome to see our final accounts of the night and to see just how much we raise for this noble cause.
I do hope he has bought a ticket and will also be there supporting the cause and introduce himself to us on the night. His implication is not welcome .
I think Mr Hancock is out of touch with the real world for this suggestion. The amount of fly tipping will exponentially increase if this was implemented....which it won't be
Chris Greaves it's cash only because the newsagents are kindly offering to sell on behalf of the organisers. Plus I don't think you can compare this fundraiser to the shenanigans of APC
Not sure I'd be giving cash only to such a worthy cause without some transparency of the accounts given what's happened with other accounts recently
Mike Hancock makes a good point. In the late 90s, we lived in Brussels and we had the usual array of bins for glass, plastic and green waste. They were all collected free of charge. The equivalent of the black bin waste would only be collected if it was bagged up into very specific, branded bright orange bags...and those bags were available to buy in local shops and supermarkets but were priced at about £1 each. Certainly encouraged one to keep the landfill waste to an absolute minimum.
Can someone please tell me who controls Audlem Online? What relationship do they have with the APC?
That's a very good idea proposed by Mike Hancock. Take note CE.
I'd like to invite you to a free taster session for our brand new 'Walk Fit' project On Thursday 16th FEB – 6:30pm till 7:30pm. Walk Fit is predominantly aimed at over 55's and is a low impact hybrid between a fitness class and a sport session. Our Walking Football sessions have been a huge success in the village and we're hoping 'Walk Fit' will be the same! If you have any questions, please email me: alex.mevo@outlook.com
I feel that I have to comment on the written diatribe of Mr Huntback re Car Damage.
If a tractor driver is driving like a maniac, without any consideration of other road users and there are no witnesses when the tractor driver wrecks somebody's car, then this is no way knock for knock. I get the sense that Mr Huntback has a clue as to who the offending tractor driver is.
Well I presume the air ambulance was there for an emergency but I'd congratulate the parish council for moonlighting a helipad. Can anyone let me know when I can book a flight over audlem
We have a brown bin for garden waste, C.E. then provided a small green bin with bio degradable bags for use within the home for food waste. So which green bin are we talking about that they wanting to charge for please?
Surely if Cheshire East really had green ambitions, they would charge extra to empty black bins and make the green bins free?
highly recommended Chris for plastering/tiling needs.

ABC Childcare on the grounds of Audlem St James (CoE) primary school is taking bookings for holiday club. Please get in touch on 07503 547286
Two pick-ups arrived this morning, parked (blocked) in our drive, put cones out in order to start installing a pole that we were told at the meeting with Cheshire East wouldn't be going ahead as they could use the existing pole on the other side of the drive.
Apparently that has been rejected as not strong enough....so replace it then?
We already have perfectley adequate broadband, the airband is not upgrading our existing system it is in competition with it.
Once installed we will be asked if we want to change over.
We don't. It is a complete waste of money and an unnecessary eye sore.
They propose to dig a 2.5 meter hole within 12 yards of a 500 year old Oak tree that stands in the garden at the edge of the road. I imagine they will be affecting the root system.
All this for something we neither want or need.
It is more than Car damage we should be worrying about. The excessive speed and lack of consideration by some of the tractor drivers whizzing through the village is an accident just waiting to happen. Somebody will get seriously hurt, or worse. And the excuse from the farmers, 'putting food on your table' doesn't hold water anymore. Why can't we have a CCTV system around the village, Fine, NAME and SHAME them.
To the OP, if you had a collision on the bridge, then I think you'll find that it will be knock for knock as there are no central markings on the road. The driver of the tractor may not have been aware that your wing mirror made contact with his trailer, thus failure to stop.
Sorry to hear about your hit and run accident Roy. Have you tried the Co-Op? I think they have cameras outside. There is a growing amount of concern about the number of accidents but also the near misses with tractors and other large machines and vehicles being driven though Audlem. It seems like the village is getting busier or narrower with parked cars and the machines are getting larger each year! Thank you to the very kind tractor driver who let me through by the Combermere this morning but I was really annoyed to see one of your young colleagues on Monday at 12:40 loaded with a very big blue rig and a trailer thingy crossing the canal bridge into the village from the Whitchurch road as he was texting on his mobile phone. Completely irresponsible.
