Our cat got out of the house yesterday lunchtime and has not been seen since. We moved to Audlem last October and she hasn't been out since we moved in.
Please can you keep a look out and check sheds, garages and gardens, we are devastated she's missing.
She is black, dark tabby markings, apricot under her chin to her mouth, few apricot flecks on her face, her right ear has a small piece out of it on the tip.
Found a ladies watch on the road by Kingbur place near the Co-op in Audlem about 12.30 Sunday 14th April. It's been handed in to Alison in the Co-op for safe keeping.
Hello – can anyone recommend an experienced builder please?
Further to contact from residents, apologies I have only just seen the AoL reference, I have been in touch with Cheshire Highways in regard to the apparent cessation of works and reopening of the Weaver Bridge, albeit with temporary traffic lights.
They apologise for not keeping 'us' appraised of events and tell me its, understandably, due to high water levels and land conditions following the recent heavy rainfall.
They plan to reassess the site in 4/5 working days and promise to update me directly thereafter.
We are having a plant sale at 32 Windmill Drive Audlem on Sunday 14th April from 10 to 1pm.
Hellebores, ajuga, euphorbia, primroses, phlox, verbena bonariensis etc.
All hardy perennials.
Come and bag a bargain.
Look forward to seeing you
Can anyone recommend a cleaner? Would initially need a deep clean then fortnightly cleans. Fridays would be ideal but open to other days. If any has any recommendations it would be really appreciated. Thanks
Many thanks Nigel

Good luck

I now know a lot more about the Ashy mining bee than I did before breakfast. Lovely little chap and they don't sting if Mr Google is correct. One summer we had a Tawny Bee nest in the lawn at the top of our steps which was well walked every day with no trouble to either party. The fun bit was mowing the lawn which caused them a bit of consternation as the landscape had changed and required a returning bee to indulge in some low level manoeuvres looking for home until suddenly, a bee popped out of the grass and all was well again. A great addition to any garden and no threat to the children.
Given the appalling state of the local roads and lanes, I wanted to share a comprehensive guide to making a claim for damage. It was published by Money Saving Expert and may be of interest to readers:
https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/pothole-claims/
Fortunately, I have not needed to use it yet but I regularly report any dangerous potholes etc. locally via. Fixmystreet.
Hello
A few weeks ago there was a post from a handyman just setting up his business.
Does anyone have his details please?
Many thanks
This coming week is a sad time for Salford and for Audlem residents of an older generation, as we face two funerals. Dr Michael, as he was always affectionately known by the many families that he attended upon, including our own, during his long and caring career in our community. He followed in his father, Gifford's footsteps, but was made in a different mould. He is sadly missed by all who knew him. It was Carl Jung who said,' Medicine cures diseases, but only doctors can cure patients' and that was certainly true of Dr Michael. He was also a tree planter and that was in the late nineteen seventies when it was not the fashion it is today. It was fitting, that he lived to enjoy the benefits of the two small woods he planted in the field behind his house. A man who plants trees looks to the future and leaves a gift for all to enjoy and Dr Michael certainly achieved that.
It is also very sad that this same week, Salford will be mourning the loss of David Holton who had only just moved into the old surgery on retirement from his hospital administration career less than two years ago, when he was tragically diagnosed with cancer. Out thoughts and prayers are with Penny, their sons and all the Thornton families.

Audlem Parish Council website, in agendas section : https://www.audlempc.co.uk/downloads/parish-council/parish-council-agendas.html
The spirit of the late and much missed Bob Cartwright lives on with the continuance of these articles – a tradition he started several years ago.
The AOL authors and editors are to be commended as the quality is certainly up to the high standards set in previous years. I am sure Bob would have approved!
Just now Friday at 5.30 pm a largish, Alsatian type cross dog is running loose around School Lane, Stafford Street and Heathfield Road.
Looks stressed and lost. Ran after my dog and left us frightened and me upset.
Hope the owner is found soon!
