Last week

Elf did not happen I am sad to report. Critical equipment failure meant what was to be a congenially festive evening of film, hot choc, mince pies and gingerbread became a mixed bag of a bit more mug decorating, the odd game of cards and some random running around. These things happen though, and it didn't stop us doing the eating and drinking in festive vein.

The picture shows Elf happening on the computer but not happening on the big screen.

Two weeks before Christmas

There are two sessions of Youth Club remaining before the Christmas break and we are all about Christmas now. This coming Wednesday (14th Dec) we will be making Christmas decorations and on Wed 21st we will be having a bit of a 'do'. This year we are asking our young people to contribute an item of food for the Christmas Party. We'll keep it very simple so please look out for a piece of paper marked 'sweet' or 'savoury' coming home this week. Anything is welcome, a big bag of crisps, a packet of nice biscuits -- we don't want to add to your load as we hurtle at speed towards the 25th!

The Quiz at the Lord C

I must include another reminder about the Youth Club fundraising Quiz at the Lord Combermere this Tuesday 13th Dec.

Ed:- This is the annual charity night for the weekly Tuesday quiz at the Lord C. Regular Tuesday night quizzers will be able to take advantage of the free buffet, paid for by the accumulated entry fees that Ralph accumulates through the year. Irregular quizzers are also welcome but will be charged £5 for the privilege.

Everything kicks off from 8pm, there is lovely nosh for everyone and some prizes that are really worth getting out of bed for. A meal for two at the Lord C, a meal for two at The Priesthouse Cafe, a half case of Tanners Claret, a bouquet of Flowers designed by the Flower Divas, a giant basket of fresh fruit, make up sets from Boots, Home baked cake from JAs, voucher from Oxtail and Trotter and The Deli, chocolate from Llovely and gifts from Williams and many other kind donors.

If you can squeeze us into the typically mad social calendar this time of year we would be delighted to see you. This is a really jolly Christmas night out on the doorstep and you'll be doing your bit into the bargain -- no brainer! (Correction, 'brainer'...it's a Quiz night after all!).

Audlem Youth Club meets every Wednesday during term time at the Public Hall, 7.15pm -- 9pm. Year 7 and above, £1 subs on entry, no membership required, come when you can. Any enquiries to Kate on 07789 915940.
