"You Decide" for ADAPT

Following the article describing how to vote in the Participatory Budget scheme (click hereif you missed it), this is a reminder of the ADAPT bid,

The vital thing is to come along to the Nantwich Civic Hall in time to register by 10am on 21 January, listen to the presentations, and vote.

An Audlem Cycle Map

ADAPT's funding bid being presented on the January 21st 'You Decide' process at Nantwich Public Hall is to produce and publish a cycle map for the Audlem area based on safe an enjoyable cycle routes away from our busy main roads. ADAPT's promotion of the fantastic network of lanes and other routes around Audlem will be aimed at unlocking the many health benefits of cycling for people throughout South Cheshire aged from 5 to 80+. The project should also be of benefit to the local economy as cyclists from elsewhere in the area are attracted to the Audlem area.

If successful, the money (we are bidding for £3185) will be used for professional cartography services, graphic design and printing delivered by service providers all based less than 10 miles from Audlem. The map will be delivered both as a paper leaflet and in electronic form. ADAPT members will prepare the content for the project on a voluntary basis without any use of the scheme funding.

ADAPT estimates that over 400 people are likely to enjoy the health benefits which fall into the categories of:

• Increasing physical exercise
• Reduce levels of obesity
• Improve emotional health and wellbeing

ADAPT's Transport Group have piloted many of the routes both themselves and in publicised rides and have proven that the routes work and can form the basis for a new initiative for our area. The map is needed to act as a focal point for its promotion, and nothing like this currently exists.
