Would you like another coloured wheelie bin?

The Parish Council has been looking at creating a Communal Composting Site. This has been strongly supported by Crewe & Nantwich Borough Council. After trawling the whole Parish, no site could be found and it was decided to investigate whether a small part of the Common Land along Longhill Lane could be used. Discussion with the relevant authorities has shown that this is possible, in fact they have stated it would be a good use for the land.

There are, however, concerns amongst some residents in that area. Should there be, as an alternative, another attempt to have Brown Wheelie Bins? These are normally used in urban areas but it has come to light that Wrenbury has been pressing to have them in their village. At the next meeting of the Parish Council, the subject will be discussed and Councillor Mike Hill will recommend the Council investigates the use of brown bins further before committing the Parish Council to any expenditure on a composting site.

What do you think? The next Vote Poll, starting next week, will ask what you think of brown bins, bearing in mind they cost £20.00 per year.

The current Vote Poll on fireworks is still running neck and neck. If you haven't voted yet, cast your vote in the next few days on what has proved to be a very contentious issue.
