Audlem Scouts are working for their Media Relations and Marketing badge (see previous article, click here).,

Here's the report that the Wolves troop wrote & their ideas for future fundraising:

Scouts Fundraising

As a scout group we need to increase scout funds.

We are looking to buy new equipment which will help us to go on more camps, buy necessary equipment for our outdoor activities such as Cheshire hike and our weekly scout evenings. We have made a decision that the kind of fund raising that we would like to have a go at, our main activities based are triathlons, sponsored run's and beat the goalie, to include people who are not as active we would also raise money with activities such as discos and cake sales.

Bake sale

Why we should do a bake sale?
I think we should do a bake sale to raise more money for the scouts. A bake sale is where a community or a group get together and each bring in cakes and pastries decided by the group/community. On a decided date group/community members gather bringing their cakes/pastries to be sold to the public. The members would have agreed on what prices to sell what for, and where/when they are going to sell them. scouts are doing this so we can raise money to buy new equipment for scouts to use whether it is for camps,or for weekly meetings.

Sponsored Run

For a sponsorship Challenge I would like to do a sponsored run. You run for 3km and raise money for Scouts. When doing the run you will keep a steady pace to keep going. We are doing this to raise money for a trailer and more equipment. This will help us do more hikes / activities and go on many more adventures. We would like the following; more camps, outdoor activities, caving, climbing, kayaking, sailing, cycling, swimming and loads more.

Beat the goalie

I think that Scouts should do a sponsored beat the goalie. This means there is a football net and a Scout in goal. Then people pay a pound to take a shot against them, if you get 3/3 you get to boast about it, but it does not matter how much you get because you get a packet of Harribo's!

We are doing this to do more hikes/activities and more adventures.

Leaders' comments

Other ideas they had included a car boot sale, sponsored gaming, sponsored roller-skates, sponsored swim, sponsored 5 a side football and a disco with food.

Audlem Scouts, Cubs & Beavers are a charity based organisation, run by volunteers, so please do support the scouts efforts when we hold our fundraisers, so that we can get them the equipment to enable them to take part in all the scouting activities they would love to be able to do.

There is also a video was produced by the Cobra Patrol, which we hope to publish when we, and the Scouts, have cracked the technology – so watch this space.
