Audlem W.I. enjoyed a members meeting on Thursday when five ladies gave talks about their experiences as expatriates:

  • Margaret Lockwood gave in interesting talk about her life in Canada in the '60s. We enjoyed hearing about her experiences shopping in the huge Canadian supermarkets and coping with the tremendous snowstorms in winter.
  • Joyce Clydesdale told us about living in the Middle East and Brunei.
  • Pat Jones enjoyed her time in America and told us how she coped with moving the family and all the amazing places she visited.
  • We all felt sympathy for Pat Smith who told us about life in Santos with the dirty beaches and lack of recognisable food.
  • Back home Brenda Heathcock told us about her many journeys all over England and her experiences.

One thing that came over with all the speakers was how they all enjoyed their experiences but how much they all came back home to England and appreciated the life, culture and scenery of home.
