Where are The Invitations?

With the gold-embossed invitations to the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton supposed to be landing on doormats around the world last weekend, there's a worry that the postal delays plaguing the Audlem area could mean local invitees missing out on the Big Day.

1,923 guests have been invited to Westminster Abbey on Friday, April 29th. The invitations were sent out via Royal Mail last Wednesday and Thursday. Which could pose a problem!

Fears have multiplied as Audlem Online has not yet received an answer to its latest letter to Moya Greene, Royal Mail's chief executive, in an attempt to get some straight answers about local mail problems.

That letter was posted on Monday 21st February in Audlem, with a first class stamp. It should, therefore, have been received in London on Tuesday and a reply should have arrived by now.

Unfortunately, a previous reply to a letter from this website took thirty nine days to arrive from Moya Greene's office in London. A similar delay with all those Royal Wedding invitations heading this way from Buckingham Palace could well mean local invitees missing the RSVP deadline.

We will, as they say, keep you posted.
