Saturday 3rd March is promising to be a great night for music lovers in Audlem. With the Cabaret Evening in the Public Hall virtually sold out (see yesterday's news story), there's also a great music night planned just across the road that Saturday with a Live showcase night of music from 7:30 – 11:00pm in Audlem Scout and Guide Hall – the rock 'n roll venue in Audlem!!!

Hosted by Gaston & co, courtesy of the Pantomime, the night features...

Hollow Floor – Ian Haughey & Pete Marshall's band, indefinable and they refuse to be categorised!; the Defense – Local Punk hero's; Ipcress, an up & coming new indie band, and the Strangers, Audlem's youngest indie band making another appearance.

While the Red Hot Chili Peppers have said they can't make it (they're playing hard to get with the Glastonbury Festival too), Chilli will still be provided for the hungry but do fetch your own 'refreshments'. Under 18's must be alcohol free on the premises – this will be enforced. The event is promoted by the Hollow Floor Recording Studio, 01270 811330 and Coalshed Studio 01270 812068. Tickets have a face value of £0 but you can make a donation on the night. You will need ticket for entry so please contact the promoters.

Meanwhile 'Jacob's Ladder' will also be playing that night at the Shroppie Fly from 9.00pm.

All we need now to complete a great night on 3rd March – and to cater for all musical tastes and age groups – is the CBSO or Liverpool Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in St James Church; gospel singers in the Methodist Church; jazz in the Combermere; a barbershop quartet in Braids and perhaps The Who performing live on the Bridge car park. Or perhaps we simply haven't been told about these events yet!
