With one of the webteam an avid follower of statistics, we thought we had better bring you this 'exciting' news:

The Audlem Online webteam is pleased to report that our readership increased by 36% in 2011 compared with the previous year.

328,762 readers clicked on to Audlem Online during the year. On average, each visitor looked at three pages – 972,813 pages in total.

It all works out at an average of 900 readers a day. The busiest month was November 2011, when readership averaged 1,117 a day, followed by May, both months with major events in the village which always boosts readership.

The record single day was on April 21st when Audlem Online was featured on the Jeremy Vine show on BBC Radio2. The interview was part of a discussion on the threat to local newspapers from new media such as community websites with Audlem featured on the show for nearly ten minutes.

The webteam is now working on a further upgrade of the site early this year and is meeting today to discuss a variety of improvements.
