Ward Councilor's Update to APC

Highlighted the CE Offer of Community Health & Wellbeing Visits.
(click here for details – closest Nantwich on 22nd Feb & Burleydam on 23rd Feb – editor)

Signposted to possible grant funding from the National Association of Local Councils to supportcommunity events to celebrate the forthcoming Kings Coronation.

Reminded of the forthcoming CE Budget Meeting, Wednesday 22/2/23, including the headlines of:

  • a 4.99% increase is proposed.
  • a charge for garden waste is proposed.
  • a further cut of 800K to the highways budget.

That the A530 Middlewich Road to Leighton Hospital is finally due to reopen next week; as per AOL's update 17/02/23.

Updated on the recent 'Airband Drop in Session'.

Updated positively on the recent CE Highways Visit to Audlem Ward, referencing Parish sites identified for works such as Paddock Lane, Sink Hole by the Buttermarket and Corbrook Flood.

I am also now confident that a 'crossing point' on Cheshire Street will be identified later this year.

Speed Assessments haven't unlocked funding so the intervention will be button marked paving stones on either side of the road.

Regrettably nothing positive regarding the ongoing issues on Green Lane, but please be assured I continue to lobby for action by CE here too.

Finally, whilst I live outside the parish of Audlem as your 'CE Ward Councillor' I endeavour to attend all meetings to provides updates and represent resident's views. At Monday's meeting I followed upon two concerns in relation to Turnpike Field:

  • Continual Dog Fouling.
  • An emerging desire of residents to be briefed/understand what the Parish Council's decision, apparently taken last year, to transfer Turnpike to Fields in Trust actually means?
