The War to End All Wars

Coming to Audlem's renowned Theatre Cafe at Audlem's Scout & Guide Hall tomorrow, Saturday 15th March, and presented by Hoc 19 Events, is a great piece of new theatre from Darren John Poyzer.

Darren, better known locally for his live music performances here in Audlem is bringing his unique talents to the theatre. A live performance written to commemorate not specifically the start of, but moreso the impact of The Great War, and then celebrate the 100 year anniversary of Armistice in 2018.

A mix of live music and spoken word combined with video footage will tell Daren's story. Aged just 18, Darren was on the Royal Navy's front line during the Falklands Conflict of 1982. Now as he reaches his 50th year, he has written a genuinely unique, heartfelt and soul-searching WW1 Commemoration performance.

The Story

A troubled veteran of recent conflict is researching World War 1 in the hope of soothing his own, personal moral dilemmas. Taking advice from a therapy session, he allows an objective voice to guide his emotional state of mind. Will this lead to deep trauma, or will he make some sense of it all and create a recipe for world peace?

Entertaining, poetic, acoustic musical theatre as Falklands veteran, musician and story-teller Darren John Poyzer delivers a very real, up-close and personal, alternative to all that Pomp and Ceremony. This will also include a Q&A that has become popular feature following Freerange's theatre performance of Spoonface Steinberg.
