Audlem's recent clutch of Community Pride awards has gone on show in a window display at Williams Newsagents.

The village scooped no less than four top awards at the annual Cheshire Community Action event.

Plaques and certificates have gone on show for Best Kept Village, Overall Championship Best Kept Village in Cheshire, Website of the Year for AudlemOnline and Little Gem award for Crown Courtyard in the centre of the village.

The problem now is where to hang the plaques as walls in The Square are already littered with award signs.

Parish Council chairman Phil Johnson, who picked up the awards on behalf of the village at Ellesmere Port Civic Hall agreed the village was running out of space to hang awards but said the Lord Combermere was a likely site for display.

"Audlem has a tremendous record in these awards and this year's achievement is a great testament to the village" he said.

The plaques on the wall in the Square testify to number of times Audlem has received the Best Kept Village award in its category.

But this year's jewel in the crown is the plaque for Overall Championship in Cheshire award, a huge testament to those who work so hard to make Audlem such a great place to live and to visit.
